Recently, I received a couple of book reviews through my connection with Pubby.com, a resource for authors to review each other’s books. In Pubby’s system, an author can earn points by reading and then writing a book review of another author’s book.
When we finish writing a book review, we submit it to Amazon and then notify Pubby through their system. Amazon reviews it to see if you purchased the book at Amazon (usually an eBook), verifies it as a legitimate book review, and once accepted, posts it on Amazon for that author’s book. Pubby is notified of Amazon’s acceptance, and Pubby awards the book reviewer with a specified number of points. After we earn sufficient points, we can use those points to buy a book review of our own book. That’s what I did. This allows authors to get real-life book reviews to see the reaction of real people to the books we wrote. It is vital for authors to hear what people think about our books. Authors crave feedback. Like anybody who does something in life, authors want to know if people appreciate their work. Is there any person who does not appreciate being told they did well?
Well, I’d like to have that kind of feedback too. Who doesn’t?
Okay, I received a short but excellent book review from Katlin W. The title of her review was, “Great!” She wrote, “This was an interesting read, and gave me a whole new perspective on a few things. Enjoyed it. :)” She gave me five stars out of five.
That excited me because she enjoyed reading my book, but she also declared it “gave [her] a whole new perspective on a few things.” This was what I gained from my research and thinking. It delighted me that she felt the same way.
Another book review from Troy L. also thrilled me! He also gave me five stars out of five. He titled his review, “A Profound Journey into Spiritual Insight.”
He wrote the following:
“‘God’s Existence: Deeper Thoughts for Greater Insights‘ is a truly enlightening read. The author masterfully navigates complex philosophical and theological concepts, making them accessible and thought-provoking for readers at any stage of their spiritual journey. Each chapter delves deeper into the mysteries of existence, encouraging reflection and offering fresh perspectives on age-old questions. The writing is eloquent, yet clear, making it easy to follow and deeply engaging. This book isn’t just for scholars; it’s for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their faith and the universe around them. I found myself reflecting on the ideas long after I had put the book down. Highly recommended for anyone looking to expand their spiritual horizons and engage in meaningful contemplation.”
Troy called my book “a truly enlightening read.” He pointed out, “Each chapter delves deeper into the mysteries of existence, encouraging reflection and offering fresh perspectives on age-old questions. The writing is eloquent, yet clear, making it easy to follow and deeply engaging.” It seems clear to me that he understood how profound my book was. This echoed the comments from the publisher’s professional editor made to me after he edited my manuscript. Troy understood that point. He also noted how easy it was to read the book.
Troy made one thing very clear: “This book isn’t just for scholars; it’s for anyone seeking a deeper understanding of their faith and the universe around them.” The book made such an impact on him that he realized he reflected on its ideas after reading it. It was a beautiful thought that he thought the book helped people get “a deeper understanding of their faith.” That would be pretty awesome if it did.
I am very grateful for the comments that Katelin and Troy shared. You can find their remarks posted on Amazon when you select my book God’s Existence: Deeper Thoughts for Greater Insights.
