John Spender recently offered this fresh book review of my latest book. He pointed out it presents “a fresh and accessible perspective on profound philosophical and theological concepts.” He further stated that this perspective makes it a “thought-provoking read for anyone on a spiritual journey.” I found this to be true while researching books and thinking about controversial issues in Genesis and Exodus. It showed me that the old way of thinking is significantly mistaken. One major reason was the vocabulary and interpretation of people 6,000 years ago compared to our modern times. What was the actual meaning of the word “earth” when Noah was confronted by the flood? We know that we do not speak Elizabethan English in our day and age. Meanings of words have changed since Elizabeth I. How much more have they changed from 6,000 years ago.

Chapter Five in Genesis tells us that Adam and ten generations to Noah lived around 900 years. How did those people define a “year?” Did they use the same calendar that we use today? Absolutely not! How did they define a “year?” We know that Julius Caesar changed the calendar in his day. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, right? NO! After he was born, they changed the calendar again. If I recall correctly, he was born on February 11, according to the old calendar or something like that. Since my birthday is February 20, I noticed that many years ago–indeed, decades ago! We know that people in ancient times frequently used the terminology that such and such event occurred in the seventh year of the king’s reign. Did they use that kind of reference 6,000 years ago? Or was their system of calendar related to the harvest of a particular crop? I haven’t read anyone’s definition of a year. That’s why I ramble about possible definitions. And that’s why I have to question such long life spans. I am just trying to be honest instead of embellishing God’s word. According to the Bible, God wants us to seek the truth. Even if we humans are afraid of the truth, God certainly is NOT afraid of the truth.

These are only a couple of issues I discuss in my new book, God’s Existence: Deeper Thoughts for Greater Insights. I invite readers to read more provoking thoughts and contemplate their meaning. To help celebrate the upcoming holidays, I have discounted my book price so readers can present my book to their family and friends. According to my publisher, BookBaby, it will take a week or two for the booksellers to receive their notification of the new discounted price. So, I ask for your patience to see the discounted price.
